Thanks to the hundred of you that came and cheered so loudly, sorry to
all those who couldn't get in.
Hammer
& Tongue is the biggest promoter
of slam
poetry in the UK, and we are proud to be hosting our biggest slam yet
at the end of march.
Across six regions of the U.K. and as part of summer festivals, Hammer
& Tongue regularly provide a stage for aspiring artists to try out
their work - judged by the audience in ‘slam’ competitions.
Now the winners from each area will descend on the East End’s
oldest surviving, Victorian Music Hall (“the city’s hidden
stage”) to decide the national champion. With over 3000 people
having competed at events across the different regions, there will now
be a select handful of "slam" poets who pit their wits for the big
title.

Hammer & Tongue
has had a busy time continuing its
successful work in schools and other educational venues as well
as creating stages at festivals.
This summer saw the launch of the LightFoot Sound System a bicycle
and solar powered public address system. This has been an
excellent tool for introducing kids to a creative response to
climate change. It is also a brilliant way to have zero carbon
entertainment at your event, workshop, festival or party.
